Even during the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Mustangs Girls Teams continue to give back to the community by making over 200 Valentine’s cards for the residents of Sakura Gardens (Keiro). The Mustangs led the charge and encouraged other Organizations to participate in the event. The response was overwhelming!
Check out photos from 2020 and other past Keiro Krafts volunteer events.
Held annually in Monterey Park, the Cherry Blossom Festival at Barnes Park gives our community a chance to see, hear and taste a bit of the Japanese American culture through a first-hand experience of watching traditional Japanese dancing, hearing the resounding beats of the taiko drums, observing the mastery and various skills of martial arts, participating in the ancient art of the tea ceremony, or buying hand-made crafts or food with an Asian flair. Other highlights of the festival include games and crafts for children, and numerous cultural displays.
In the past, our organization would host a Spam Musubi / Chinese Chicken Salad food booth. Starting in 2024, we are back hosting an activity booth to serve our younger community members.
In the past, Mustangs families have volunteered and attended our Annual Picnic at Elder Park.
It is a where all the teams come together to relax, share stories, play games and eat great food. For many years, our players and siblings would end the day swimming at the Elder Park pool.
